The Camilla Enterprise
Obituary of William R. Barnes as written on page 2 of "The Camilla Enterprise" 
dated 19 Jan 1961.  Camilla, Georgia.   William R. Barnes, 85, died at Mitchell 
County Hospital in Camilla Saturday following a lengthy illness.  Funeral 
services were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at Sale City Methodist Church with 
the Rev. Walter Bates officiating, asisted by the Rev. Luther Burton, the Rev. 
C. I. Morgan and the Rev. Quenton Barnes.  Interment was in Sale City cemetery 
with Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla in charge of arrangements.  A native of 
Taylor County, he was the son of the late Tom and Betty Shepard Barnes..  He 
moved to Sale City from Taylor in 1898.  He was a well-known farmer in the 
community.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Beasley Barnes of Sale City; 
two sons, Paul Barnes of Tallahassee, and Perry Barnes of Camilla; a brother, 
Timothy Barnes of Doerun; a sister, Mrs. R. E. Baisden of Albany; five 
grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
