Mrs. A. R. Bolton, of Sale City, died Friday, January 28, at Vereen Memorial Hospital in Moultrie following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 29, at 3:30 o'clock at Antioch Methodist Church at Pebble City. Officiating was the Rev. William McClellan, pastor of Sale City Methodist Church assisted by Reb. Louis Spivey and Rev. N. H. Williams, both of Camilla. Ladies from the Missionary Society groups of Cotton, Sale City and Hartsfield, formed a choir to sing comforting hymns. Interment took place at Akridge Cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were Johnny Hynote, Otis King, George Jones, Hiram Caton, Ralph Eubanks, J. I. Eubanks, Charlie Mock, Tommy Beasley. Honorary pallbearers were Brady Beasely, Jim Mock, Alton Akridge, George Stokes, Carl Akridge, Raymond Muggridge, Mack Clark, John Akridge, Herman Green, J. B. Green, T. K. Brock, Isaac Marchant and Paul Branch. Mrs. Bolton was born August 28, 1881, in Shellman, Ga., the daughter of the late Rev. George Hill Stewart and Mary Elizabeth Fretwell Stewart. She spent most of her life here in Mitchell County where she was married fifty-five years ago to A. R. Bolton who survives her in addition to two daughters, Mrs. Julius Palmer and Mrs. Harvey Meinders, both of Camilla; two sons, F. H. Bolton of Perry, Fla.., and G. A. Bolton of Albany, Ga; two brothers, R. T. Stewart of Orland, Fla., Allen Stewart of Albany, Ga; two sisters, Mrs. A. M. Rivers of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. J. W. Weeks of Gainesville, Ga. In addition twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
