  Mrs. Calvin Baggs, Sr. and Mrs. J. L. Holt, both of Camilla, have the 
sympathy of friends in the death of their mother, Mrs. E. L. Burnum, which 
occurred Sunday, August 21, at her home near Climax, Ga.  Funeral services took 
place Monday, August 22, at four o'clock at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  
Rev. J. L. Hand and Rev. Clarence Nobles officiated.  Pallbearers were Charlie 
Faircloth, Joe Franklin Faircloth, Render Keaton, Hilton Baggs, Calvin Baggs, 
Jr. and Lenward Cross.  Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.  Mrs. Burnum 
was a lifetime resident of Climax and Decatur county.  She was the daughter of 
the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Godwin, of Decatur county.  She was 69 years old, 
having been born January 8, 1885.  Tommy Godwin of _______ was a brother of 
Mrs. Burnum.  Another brother surviving is George Godwin of Cairo.  Two sisters 
surviving are Mrs. G. Gore of Dover, Fla., and Mrs. Nora Harrell of 
Mississippi.  Mrs. Burnum is survived by one son, Paul Burnum of Climax, in 
addition to five daughters including Mrs. Baggs and Mrs. Holt, and Mrs. J. T. 
_____ of Moultrie, Ga: Mrs. ___ Nesmith of Lakeland, Fla; and Mrs. John A. 
Ferrence of Whigham.n.
