April 9,1932) Patricia Ann Reach Cullens died peacefully at her home on Monday April 18, 2005 following a short fight with cancer. She was born April 9, 1932 in Daytona Beach, graduated from Waycross (Georgia) High School in 1949, and attended Jones Business College in Jacksonville and Mercer University. On April 30 1955 she married Tommy L. Cullens of Camilla, Ga. She worked as an executive secretary, first for Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, and then for the GFA Peanut Association in Camilla. Patsy is pre-deceased by her parents, Roy and Elizabeth Ashley Reach, and two brothers, Roy Reach, Jr. and Tommy Reach. She is survived by her husband, Tommy L. Cullens; a son, Tom Cullens of Marathon; daughters Cathy Bame (Dave) of Tampa and Patti Burch (Donald) of Fernandina Beach, brother Ken Reach; sister Judy LaRocca;, and four grandchildren, Katie and Cary Anne Bame, and Trey and Patricia Burch. She was the former south Georgia state secretary for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis Association, a member of the Central Florida Rose Society, and the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Patsy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Winter Park and was active in the Bethel-Seekers class, where she formerly served as co- President. In addition she served as an usher, the treasurer for the Ruth Circle, a member of the United Methodist Women, a church office volunteer, a youth counselor, a Sunday School teacher, and in many other offices. She was best known for growing and sharing her roses on a weekly basis at church events with the homebound and with those grieving. She will be remembered for bringing joy into the lives of others, her gracious smile, her caring touch, and her gift of roses. She was known for her creativity and skill as a seamstress, even designing and making wedding dresses for her daughters. Throughout life she was high spirited, young at heart, and youthful in appearance. Patsy held a very quiet, but deep, Christian faith, which she lived fully and passed along to her children. Patsy was slow to criticize, instead looking for the good quality in others. Among her greatest joys was having taught all of her grandchildren how to swim, and Patsy always loved the ocean. Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home, Winter Park, is handling arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday April 19 from 6-9PM at the funeral home, 1350 W. Fairbanks. Memorial services will be held Wednesday April 20at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park, 125 N. Interlachen Ave., with a reception following.
