Camilla, Georgia. Howard Curles, age 65, passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 25th, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 26th, at 4:00 P. M. from the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. R. E. Courtney and Rev. Louis Crosby, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Braswell Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were Raymond Morrell, John Leonard, Theodore Robinson, Ross Ragan, Earl Taylor and Gus Norton. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Ragan, Paul Stephens, John Taylor, Charlie Palmer, W. P. McCracken, J. L. Joiner, L. R. Joiner, M. L. Pullen, C. E. Wheelock and A. J. Butler. Mr. Curles was born and reared in Mitchell County. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Curles. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Maggie Culpepper; three sons, Joe Wesley Curles, Leon Curles and David Curles, all of Meigs; two daughters, Mrs. A. A. Sanders of Albany, Mrs. F. G. Williamson of Tifton; ten grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Curles of Meigs, Jep Curles of Camilla and Newt Curles of Cotton; three sisters, Mrs. Wallace Futch of Meigs, Mrs. Sam Gay of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Sam Hufhand of Newton.
