Obituary of Charles Warner Davidson as written on page 13 of "The Camilla 
Enterprise" dated 2 Jan 1959.  Camilla, Georgia.  
Charlie Warner Davidson, sixty-eight year old resident of Sale City, died at 
about 2:30 o'clock in the morning on Friday, December 26th, at Vereen Memorial 
Hospital in Moultrie where he had been ill for about a week.  Funeral services 
were held Saturday afternoon, December 27th, at three o'clock at the Sale City 
Baptist Church.  The Rev. O. M. Cates, former pastor and former resident of 
Sale City now residing in Macon, officiated.  Assisting was the present pastor 
of the Sale City Baptist Church, the Rev. Jack Alderman.  Interment was in the 
Sale City Cemetery and nephews served as pallbearers.  Bramlett Funeral Home of 
Camilla was in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Davidson was born in Mitchell 
County on December 24, 1890, son of the late H. C. and Emma Adams Davidson.  He 
was married 42 years ago to the former Miss Clifford Whitley.  Mr. Davidson was 
a prominent farmer and landowner and was a member of the Baptist Church where 
he served as a member of the Board of Deacons.  He was a former Mayor of Sale 
City and took part in community affairs.  Survivors include his wife; a son, 
Harold W. Davidson of Doerun; a daughter, Mrs. James Mahoney of Fitzgerald; a 
brother, W. B. Davidson of Sale City; three sisters, Mrs. Theodore Palmer of 
Camilla, Mrs. W. C. Patton of Quitman and Mrs. E. C. Porter of St. Simon 
Island; and two grandchildren.
