Camilla, Georgia. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, May 26th, at four-thirty o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Pelham for Leslie Phillips Drake, age fifty-six, of Milledgeville, who died Sunday at the Macon Hospital. He had been in ill health for several years. The deceased was the son of the late William N. Drake and Hattie Phillips Drake. He was born in Pelham August 2, 1901, where he was reared. For many years he was connected with the Martin chain of theatres. Officiating at the funeral Monday was the Rev. John W. Hughston, of Milledgeville, assisted by the Rev. T. M. Underwood. Interment took place in the Pelham Cemetery and Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers included D. G. Kelly, Huland Singletary, James Glausier, Bronwood Tennyson, James Sizemore, Troy Poitevint. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Hilda Spence, of Milledgeville; one son, L. Allen Drake of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, Julian R. Drake of Albany and W. N. Drake of North Augusta, South Carolina; one sister, Mrs. A. C. Glausier of Pelham; one grandson.
