Mrs. Nova Crosby Jones Davis, age 65, died at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock following a brief illness. Funeral services took place at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at five o'clock with the Rev. H. N. Earnest in charge and the Rev. Charles C. Duncan of Camilla assisting. Interment was in the church cemetery. Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Julian Rivers, Theodore Palmer, Robert L. Hill, Weyman Holton, Ed McKeown and Jim Williford. Surviving are a son, James Jones of Mt. Dora, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Emmett Brooks of Baconton and Mrs. Mattie McClelland of Moultrie; one brother, W. B. Crosby of Sale City; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davis, the former Miss Nova Crosby, was the daughter of the late Samuel E. Crosby and Ardiemishia Adams Crosby, pioneer Mitchell Countains. She was twice married, her first husband, a Mr. Jones, lived and died in this county. Her second husband, the late Edgar Davis, preceded her in death some years ago. In recent years she had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John L. Bettison. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was active in church and community affairs until ill health came.
