Obituary of Ambrose J. Everett as written on page 1 of "The Camilla Enterprise" 
dated 30 Jan 1959.  Camilla, Georgia.  
Ambrose J. Everett, age 69, died at his home on the 25th of January, after a 
lengthy illness.  Mr. Everett was a life long resident of Mitchell County and 
had served as County Surveyor for a number of years.  About five years ago ill 
health forced his retirement from this county post which he held for so long.  
Mr. Everett was a land owner in the Pleasant Hill community.  Funeral services 
were held Monday, January 26th, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Townsend officiating, assisted by Rev. Jasper Sadler.  Interment was at Mt. 
Zion Cemetery.  Nephews of the deceased who served as pallbearers were Roy 
High, Marvin High, Steve Fudge, Dophus Fudge, Kenley Lanter and Everett High.  
Mr. Everett was born in Mitchell County on February 9, 1889.  He was the son of 
the late Henry and Hattie Shirah Everett.  He married the former Miss Lucy Lee 
Melton.  He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Davis of Camilla; 
one sister, Mrs. J. F. Fudge of Pelham; and two grandsons.
