Many relatives and friends were deeply grieved by the death of Miss Annie Mae Akridge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Akridge of Pebble City. The young lady was attending Cave Springs Deaf and Dumb School and being stricken with Spanish influenza, it passed quickly into pneumonia, from which she died Saturday, 19 Oct 1918, at 5:00 AM. The remains arrived here Sunday, 20 Oct 1918, morning on the 8:30 train and were carried to the Pebble City Methodist church, where the funeral services took place. Rev J. J. Sanders of Sale City, conducted the services, being assisted by Rev G. H. Stewart and Rev S. O. Thomas. Interment followed at Akridge Cemetery. An unusually large crowd of friends and loved ones were present at the services. The deceased was just eighteen years of age when over taken by death. She was very brilliant mind and was a young lady of beautiful Christian character. She is survived by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Their many friends deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in their loss.
