Cameron as written in "The Camilla Enteprise" dated 15 Dec 1922. Friends throughout the county were much grieved to hear of the death of Mr. Alex Camron, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of the county which took place at the home of the deceased at an early hour Saturday morning, 9 Dec 1922. Mr. Camron had been in declining health for several years and his extreme old age made it difficult to battle against the infirmities of the body. His friends had known for some time the end was near, yet a genuine sorrow was felt when it was learned that he was no more. Funeral services were held at the Flint Cemetery on Sunday, 10 Dec at 9:00 AM conducted by Rev J.D. Miller. A large number of relatives and friends attended the services. Beautiful tributes to the long and faithful Christian life of the deceased were rendered and the tired body of this old soldier of the Cross was tenderly laid to rest in the family lot in the cemetery. Mr. Camron was 86 years of age when the summons of death end his long and remarkable life. He was one of the pioneer residents of Mitchell and had part in making the history of the county. He was a man of true and noble traits of character and was a happy and consistent Christian. He was love and honored by all who knew him and his death brings a distinct sense of loss. The deceased is survived by his daughter, Miss Mary Frances Camron and son, Bud Camron, of Flint besides a large number if near relatives and friends.
