Camilla, Georgia. A death bringing sadness to many loved ones and friends was that of Mrs. Jesse C. Shiver, which occurred at the home of the deceased in Live Oak community on Thursday of last week after an illness of only a few days from flu. Funeral services were held at the home Friday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. G. Graham, after which the remains were carried to Oakview Cemetery for interment. Mrs. Shiver was born and reared in this county and was about twenty- five years of age when overtaken by untimely death. She was before her marriage, Miss Emma Cook, a daughter of Mr. R. T. Cook. About eight years ago she was happily married to Mr. Jesse Shiver. She was a sweet and lovable young woman, a faithful wife and mother and to her little family, neighbors, friends and loved ones filled a bright and happy place that is now sadly Vacant. She had been a member of the Baptist church since girlhood. Surviving Mrs. Shiver are her husband and five small children, who are heartbroken in their loss. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Cook, also survive her and her two brothers, Messrs. James and Walter Cook, and one sister, Mrs. Troy Shiver. She leaves many other relatives and numbers of friends who mourn with the family in their bereavement and extend to them deepest sympathy in their loss. Another article about the death of Emma Cook Shiver. There was no date or name of the paper, but the article is a follows: IN MEMORY OF MRS. JESSE SHIVER a shadow of sorrow was cast over our church and community when it became known that our sister, Mrs. Jesse Shiver, had been called from earth away. On March 4, 1926, in the flower of her young womanhood, our loving Heavenly Father, in His wisdom, and for His own glory, saw best to take her unto Himself. It is hard for us to understand why, in early life, with a bright future, and the promise of a useful life, that she should be taken away, but it was the Father's will. Mrs. Shiver was born June 8, 1892. Before her marriage she was Miss Emma Cook. She was married to Mr. Jesse Shiver, January 23, 1913. In 1911, she was united to Greenwood Baptist church and later moved her membership to Pine Cliff. Beside her husband and five small children, she is survived by her father, mother, one sister and brothers. We extend to the bereaved husband, father, mother, and children with other members of the family our deepest sympathy, praying that the Father may comfort as only He can. (Signed) Mrs. J. W. Beck; Mrs. C. L. Bullard; Mildred Smith.
