Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. J. J. Griner passed away last Monday morning after lingering illness. Death visited the home of Mr. Jasper Griner a few miles east of Camilla last Monday morning and took away his beloved wife. The end came at seven o'clock, following an illness that extended over a period of seven months. During her long illness, she was an uncomplaining sufferer and was sustained, even through the final ordeal, by the Christian's sublime faith in the goodness and mercy of her Maker. Mrs. Griner had spent a long and useful life in devotion to her family, her neighbors, and her church. She was seventy-one years of age, nearly forty years of her life having been spent in the Mt. Zion community. She will be greatly mourned in that neighborhood and the bereaved husband has the deepest sympathy of all their friends. Besides her husband, Mrs. Griner is survived by several children and a number of grandchildren. The children living are: Mrs. S. B. Luckey; S. J. Griner; Mrs. Mary Brooks; C. G. Griner, and Will Griner. She also leaves one sister and four brothers: Mrs. Betty Griner; S. P. Palmer; C. P. Palmer; S. E. Palmer; and H. P. Palmer. The funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, and were conducted by Rev. S. O. Thomas, in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
