Of sad note t many relatives and friends throughout the county was the news of the death of Mrs. W. B. Butler in Akron, Ohio, Friday, 13 Dec 1929, at the home of her daughter after an illness of several days. The body was brought back here to her old home for interment, reaching Camilla Tuesday morning, and was carried out to Hopeful church, where funeral services took place at 10:00 AM. Rev J. I. D. Miller, former pastor of the deceased, conducted the services and was assisted by Rev G. T. Hunt. The church was filled to capacity with friends of the beloved woman and the floral offerings were numerous. After the impressive services, the body was laid to rest in the family lot in the cemetery beside the church. Mrs. Butler was sixty-five years of age. She was born and reared in this county. She was a daughter of the late Captain Douglas, prominent Mitchell countian and a sister of Lafayette Douglas. She was a woman of strong Christian character and many beautiful traits of true womanhood and had been a lifelong member of the Baptist church, which she loved devotedly and gave her best service as long as she lived, taking a prominent interest in its affairs. Mrs. Butler was outstanding in her strength of character and service to those about her. She was widely loved and honored and her death has brought a sad shock. Surviving Mrs. Butler are her four sons, W. B. Butler of Akron, Ohio; Bryan Butler, Rendo Butler and Louis Butler of San Francisco, Calif.: and two daughters, Mrs. W. P. Andrews of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. L. H. Dickey of Thomasville. She is also survived by one brother, Mr. William Douglas of Mississippi. Mr. G. W. Cochran and Mr. Floyd Douglas of this city are nephews.
