Adams as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 1 Mar 1918. The entire community was grievously shocked by the death early Tuesday, 26 Feb 1918, morning, of little William Adams, the seven year old son Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Adams, which came after an illness of less than a week from pneumonia. Although the little fellow had suffered a great deal he seemed to be doing splendidly Monday night, but was taken worse at 12:00 AM and passed away at 4:30 AM. Hardly a brighter child or a more splendid specimen of health could have been chosen from our community by the grim reaper, Death, than little William. Just a few days before his death he was in his place in school, in the second grade where his bright mind and happy disposition made him a favorite with his little playmates. Of a large family of relatives, William was the idol of every heart, and the shock of his sudden death crushed them with sorrow and regret. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Wednesday, 27 Feb 1918, at 10:00 AM. The pastor, Rev H. B. Woodward, officiating in the touching service. A large number of beautiful floral offerings were placed about the casket. Messrs. Dan Palmer, Joe B. Palmer, G. C. Burson and W. F. Stoudenmire acted as pallbearers. The services were concluded at the grave in Oak View cemetery, where the little boy was laid to rest. The bereaved family and relatives have the tender sympathy of the whole community in their sad loss.
