Camilla, Georgia. Friends throughout the county mourned the death last Friday evening, October 14th, of Dalton Ansel Gandy, of Pelham, who died at his residence after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the Hand Memorial Methodist Church in Pelham where he was a member for some years. Officiating at the rites was the pastor, Rev. Chester Gilbert, assisted by Rev. T. M. Underwood Jr. Active pallbearers were Dr. W. F. Rutherford, Vaughn L. Yates, Kelly Stough, M. W. Turner, Harrell West and Dr. L. C. Rossman. Forrning an honorary escort were Dr. H. C. Harris, Dr. J. C. Brim, Joe King, L. H. Singletary, Joe Singletary, Hulon Singletary, R. L. Singletary, Hubert Tucker, Perry Simpson, Phil Leabo, Floyd Hooks, W. P. Henry, Everett Herring. Following funeral services at the church interment took place in the Pelham Cemetery. In charge of arrangements was Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham. and Mr. Gandy was born September 24th, 1904, in Grady County. He was a member of Hand Memorial Methodist Church; Woodmen of the World; and he worked as a supervisor of service stations for the Sing Oil Company in Pelham. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Mildred Burt and former resident of Camilla; one son, Ansel Gandy fo Pelham; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Gandy of Pelham; one sister, Mrs. W. W. Kirbo of Camilla; five brothers, Paul Gandy of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Leon Gandy of Pelham, Roy Gandy of Macon, Marcus Gandy also of Macon, and Joe Gandy of Albany.
