Obituary of Janie Barber Collins Gibbs as written on page 6 of "The Camilla 
Enterprise" dated 28 Mar 1958.  Camilla, Georgia.  
Funeral services will be held this afternoon, March 28, at 3:30 o'clock at the 
Methodist Church in Homerville, Ga., for Mrs. Grover A. Gibbs who died at a 
late hour Tuesday night at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.  Interment will 
take place at Pine Forest Cemetery in Homerville.  Mrs. Gibbs was 68 years of 
age and was born in Camilla on March 17, 1890.  She was the former Miss Janie 
Barber Collins, daughter of the late Ben Collins and Jemie Bet Twitty Collins.  
She was married on February 1, 1913, to Grover Austin Gibbs, of Homerville.  
Illness struck her several weeks ago and she underwent an operation for brain 
tumor in Atlanta.  Afterwards she was removed to Camilla and Mitchell County 
Hospital where she lingered in critical condition until death came Tuesday 
night.  Survivors include her husband, Grover A. Gibbs of Homerville; three 
sons, Willis F. Gibbs of Homerville, G. Alva Gibbs of Troy, Ala., James 
Marshall Gibbs of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Al, Bill and Jerry Gibbs and 
Laura North; stepmother, Mrs. B. F. (Musa) Collins of Camilla; one sister, Mrs. 
H. Cleve Cox of Albany; three brothers, Crawford and Brantley Collins of 
Camilla, and Joe Sanders Collins of Homerville; three nieces, Mrs. Melvin 
Crissey of Camilla, Mrs. W. R. Hughes of Homerville, Miss Eleanor Ann Collins 
of Camilla; one nephew, Cleve Collins of Camilla.
