Gray as written on pages 1 and 12 of "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 1 Dec 1960. Camilla, Georgia. Bringing sorrow to a number of relatives in Camilla and elsewhere in the county was the death on Thanksgiving Day at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, of W. E. Gray. Death came as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage suffered on Monday of that week. Mr. Gray was born December 19, 1905, in Camilla, the son of the late Pat and Sallie Gaulden Gray. He was married to the former Miss Annie Bell Eidson in 1927 who preceded him in death two years later in 1929. He was owner of Gray's Drive In Restaurant in Memphis, a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church and was a Mason. He leaves behind his wife, Mrs. Virginia Gray of Memphis; two daughters, Mary Sue Gray of Memphis, and Mrs. Harry Phelps of Camilla; five brothers, Dewey Gray, P. A. Gray, Tom Gray, O. C. Gray, all of Camilla, and Earl Gray of Quincy, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. O. Howell of Pelham, Mrs. M. P. Crosson and Mrs. Zack Worsham, both of Camilla. Funeral services were held Friday, November 25th, at 1:00 P. M. at National Funeral Home in Memphis. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery at Brinkley, Arkansas.
