Collins Sr. Farmer Camilla – Ralph Lynwood Collins Sr., 68 of Pelham died Tuesday at John D. Archbold Hospital. The funeral will be at 3: p.m. today at Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. The Revs. Carl Stewart and Ronnie Morrell will officiate. A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Collins was a farmer and a member of Lake Pleasant Baptist Church. He was sheriff of Mitchell County for two years, a chairman of the county commissioners and member of Pelham Masonic Lodge No. 312, where he served as Past Worshipful Master. He served on the Thomas Tech Board, DEFACS board and Mitchell County Farm Bureau. He was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow and an honorary state trooper. Survivors include his wife, Joy D. Collins of Pelham; a son, Ralph L. Collins, Jr. of Pelham; four daughters, Joy Lynn C. Pollock of Camilla, Morri C. Jones of Palantine, Ill., Lisa C. Whitfield of Meigs and Dee C. Goss of Albany; two brothers, John T. Collins, Jr. and Marcus Collins, Sr., both of Pelham; a sister Jean Odom of Glenneville; 16 grandchildren and a great- grandchild.
