Camilla, Georgia. Albert N. Hatcher, 81, of the Lester community, died Friday night at his residence following an illness. A life-long resident of Mitchell County, Mr. Hatcher was the son of the late Saul and Virginia Bennett Hatcher. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Mitchell County, and a Woodman of the World. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Mattie Meadows of Mitchell County; three daughters, Mrs. C. L. Freeman and Mrs. J. J. Lindsay, both of Albany, and Mrs. T. R. Drake of Marietta; three sons, Hamilton D. Hatcher of Worth County, J. P. Hatcher of Albany, Sgt. Earl F. Hatcher of the U. S. Army stationed in Japan; a sister, Mrs. P. L. York of Albany; five brothers, Charlie, J. D., Monroe, Felix and Warner Hatcher, all of Albany, and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p. m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. James Jarrell and the Rev. Gary Tyson conducted the services. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Hatcher, Ryland Hatcher, Fate Hatcher, Thurman Hatcher, L. H. Hatcher and Calvin Hatcher; and (honorary) George Willis, Arthur Hatcher, J. W. Bateman, Leonard Wingate, R. Silvers, Bennie Janes, Joe Morey and Frank Carroll.
