Camilla, Georgia. Brazier Tete Holton, fifty year old Camilla farmer and businessman, died around three o'clock Friday afternoon, January 6th, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla. He had suffered a heart attack Christmas Eve and was admitted to the hospital then. Although his condition was known to be serious his death came unexpectedly since he appeared to be making satisfactory progress. Popular with a wide circle of friends about over the county, news of the sudden passing of the genial Mr. Holton brought sorrow to friends and family alike. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at the Camilla Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Orman P. Sloat, officiating. Hartley Holton, Dolph Holton, Clayton Holton, Lynn Holton, Glynn Holton, Jimmy Holton, Howard Holton and Marion Holton served as pallbearers and forming an honorary escort were the men in his Sunday School class. The church was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives and floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. Interment followed in Oakview Cemetery with Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Holton celebrated his 50th birthday two days after he entered the hospital at Christmas. He was born and reared in Mitchell County, the son of Mrs. Evelyn Jamie Brazier Holton and the late Howard Holton. After completing his schooling he engaged in farming and held extensive farm interests. He was also one of the partners in Holton Tractor Company, serving as its president. For some years he was a faithful and devoted member of Camilla Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Phillips Holton of Camilla; three daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Harden and Mrs. Hal Carlisle, both of Camilla, and Mrs. Odes Harris of Pelham; two sons, William Holton of Camilla and Ed Norris of Macon; four brothers, Virgil Holton, Weyman Holton, James Holton and Harry Holton, all of Camilla; a sister, Mrs. Lewis Campbell of Camilla and several grandchildren.
