Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Jun 13, at 3:00 P.M. at Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla for Reid Howard Ivey, age 60, who died at the hospital in Homestead, Fla., at about 11:00 A.M. Sunday, June 10, following a lengthy illness. Rev. Charles Duncan, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated at the rites and interment followed in the Ivey lot in Oakview Cemetery. Virgil Holton, close friend of the family, joined the following nephews of the deceased in serving as pallbearers: Joe Burson, Griffin and Ike Newberry, Jr. of Arlington, Jeff and Buddy Davis of Camilla, and Brackett Hardy of Albany. The deceased was born sixty years ago in Mitchell County, the son of the late Leonard and Ida Taylor Ivey, at the old Ivey home place several miles north of Camilla and now occupied by the George Burson family. When a young man of about twenty-five or thirty years of age he left Camilla to go to Homestead, Fla. He spent his remaining years there working in connection witht he Gulf Oil Company of Miami. Mr. Ivey was never married. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. George Burson Sr., of Camilla, and Mrs. A. R. Livingston of Homestead; one brother, Gordon Ivey, also of Homestead.
