Camilla, Georgia. Robert Norman Joiner, 55, prominent Mitchell County farmer and landowner, died shortly after being admitted to Mitchell County Hospital Sunday afternoon. Mr. Joiner had suffered a heart attack earlier in the afternoon. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, June 25th, at ten o'clock at the Branchville Methodist Church. Rev. W. J. Standford officiated, assisted by Rev. J. B. Gresham. Interment was in the church cemetery. Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge. Pall bearers were Bill Jones, W. D. Gee, Smallwood Gee, Johnny Edwards, Roy Edwards, Wilson Joiner, Morgan Joiner and Oliver Burford. Mr. Joiner was born in Mitchell County and had lived in the county all of his life. He was the son of John S. Joiner and Susan Hopkins Gee Joiner. He was a member of the County Line Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Laura Edwards; his mother, Mrs. J. S. Joiner of Camilla; one daughter, Mrs. Hoyt Smith of Powder Springs; two brothers, Carl L. Joiner and J. R. Joiner, both of Camilla; three sisters, Mrs. Ambrose Lastinger and Mrs. T. J. Broadway, both of Camilla, and Mrs. F. F. Hayes of Douglas and one granddaughter, Norma Smith of Powder Springs.
