Camilla, Georgia. Thomas Levi Kirbo Sr., seventy-nine year old retired Mitchell County farmer, died shortly after the noon hour Wednesday, August 13, at the State Hospital in Milledgeville where he had been a patient since last fall. Funeral services took place yesterday, Thursday, afternoon at four o'clock in the chapel of Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla. Officiating was the Rev. Edgar T. Davis, Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church of Camilla, and the pastor of the Christian Church in Bainbridge where Mr. Kirbo held membership. Interment followed in the Hopeful Cemetery by the side of his wife, the former Miss Janie Coker, native of the Sale City area whom he married in 1907 and who died back in 1919 when all the couple's children were still young. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Kirbo of Atlanta, Charles and Bruce Kirbo, both of Bainbridge, Joe Kirbo of Atlanta, and Robert and W. W. Kirbo, and Ted Sowa, all of Camilla. Mr. Kirbo was born in Mitchell County on May 15, 1879, the son of Joseph Arnold Kirbo and Katherine May Kirbo. His mother died when he was a tiny child. The family moved to Atlanta when the deceased was a small boy and after several years moved back to Mitchell County where they remained. Mr. Kirbo's father was a printer and type setter and worked in Camilla's earliest newspaper. Mr. Kirbo resided up until a few years ago in the Greenwood section of Mitchell County where he reared his children and was for a nuber of years a successful farmer. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mae Collins of San Diego, California; one son, T. L. Kirbo, Jr. of Camilla; four daughters, Mrs. Ivey Davis of Camilla, Mrs. J. Lawrence Glenn of the Hinsonton community, Mrs. W. B. Fry of Dahlonega, and Mrs. H. Felton Williams of Jacksonville, Fla. Eighteen grandchildren also survive.
