Camilla, Georgia. The entire community was saddened this week by the untimely death of Nathan Maroney Keadle Sunday night, at the Mitchell County Hospital where he had been confined for less than a week. News of his passing carried sorrow to an unusually large number of relatives in Mitchell County and hundreds of friends. Funeral services took place Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Camilla with his former pastor, the Rev. Charles Duncan, of Copperhill, Tenn., conducting the services, assisted by Rev. N. H. Williams, and the Rev. G. T. Hunt. Music for the services was provided by a Quartet composed of Tom Collins, Ed Singletary, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Robertson, with Mrs. W. A. Smith Jr., organist. Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment followed the services in Oakview Cemetery. Active pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Frederick Keadle, Spencer Keadle, Larry Mercer, Paula Keadle, Charles Keadle and Edward Keadle. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Stoudenmire, Brantley Collins, Lewis Campbell, Julius Jackson, Lewis Collins, Robert Culpepper, Albert Martin, Hugh McIntyre, E. J. Vann III, James Branch, Sam Miller, Clyde Brock, Vaughn Yates, Gene Groover, Floyd Powe, E. C. Jones, Wood Marshall, W. R. Axford, G. B. Baggs Jr., Hubert Kelly, Grover Cleveland, Willard Henry, James Prevatt, Merrill Jones, Cleo Rogers; John Maples, J. L. Futch, James Hayes, H. H. Hill, Murray Simmons, Bob Dunn, Neil Palmer, Thomas Cobb, M. A. Hamper, Bob Evans, H. H. Newton, Ennis Morrell, Geo. Lawrence Jr., M. W. Williams, James L. Davis, B. P. Palmer, Joe T. Spence, Tom Hayes, Morris Walters and Bob Rouse. Nathan Maroney Keadle was forty-five years of age. He had been confined to the Mitchell County Hospital for less than a week when he died Sunday night at ten o'clock. Never recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident just outside Thomasville, three and a half years ago, Nathan had been in declining health. After spending months in the hospital he was able to return to limited business activities of his saw mill and farms in the last year of two, conducting most of his business from his car. He could not walk again without assistance following the accident. He was taken suddenly last Monday night and was moved to the hospital. A lifetime resident of the county, he was the son of the late Willie Wade Keadle and Mrs. Clara Maroney Keadle. Following graduation from school he worked at various businesses. He was the first manager of the Mitchell Electric Membership Corporation and served this group in it beginning years. He later formed the Keadle Brothers Company and engaged for a time in the construction of transmission lines in other REA projects in the state. He also engaged in saw milling with Keadle Brothers Saw Mill and extensive farming interests. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla, and he was a Rotarian. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Evelyn West, and three daughters, Miss Evalyna Keadle, Miss Barbara Keadle, and Miss Rebecca Keadle. There are five brothers, N. F. Keadle of Thomasville, Rev. P. J. Keadle, L. Z. Keadle, Homer H. Keadle and W. L. (Mutt) Keadle, all of Camilla, and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
