Camilla, Georgia. John Ralph Mullis, age 64, died at the Veterans Hospital in Dublin on Thursday, October 15th, after a four month stay there. Funeral services were held in Camilla Saturday afternoon, October 17th, at three o'clock in the chapel of Bramlett Funeral Home. The Rev. Orman P, Sloat and the Rev. N. H. Williams officiated and interment was in the Oakview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Thomas Stoudenmire, Brantley Collins, M. O. Waldron, Clyde Free, Tom Cobb, Marvin Mullis, James L. Davis, Jim Woods and N. W. Green. Mr. Mullis was born in Pavo, Ga., on October 10, 1895, the son of John Richard and Mary Ella Herndon Mullis. He was engaged as a turpentine woods rider and naval stores operator until about fifteen years ago when he retired on account of ill health. For the past few years he had made his home in Camilla with his son, Gordon L. Mullis. Survivors include two sons, Gordon Mullis of Camilla, and James Mullis of Albany; one daughter, Mrs. Walllace Swilley of Camilla; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Rosencrantz of Moultrie, and Mrs. Ralph Richey of Lakeland, Fla. Four grandchildren also survive.
