Camilla, Georgia. Friends of the K. D. Phelps family are sympathizing with them in the death of their son-in-law, Alvin Burbank Peters, 58, of Cairo, who passed away Friday night, June 21st in the Grady County Hospital following a four-month illness. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Cairo, with Rev. J. C. Varnell and Rev. W. F. Dychess in charge. Interment followed in New Greenwood Cemetery. Clark Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mr. Peters was born in Moultrie, October 15, 1898, the son of the late Doctor Alvin B. Peters and Beulah Mathis Peters. He was happily married to Miss Lois Phelps, of Mitchell County. Mr. and Mrs. Peters resided in Sale City for a number of years, later moving to Cairo. At the time of his illness, he was employed by the Cairo Messenger. Survivors include his wife, a son, Yates Peters of Atlanta; a daughter, Miss Gloria Peters, teacher in the Dougherty County School System; his mother, Mrs. Beulah Peters of Tampa, Fla.; and a half brother, H.
