Obituary of Clara Avernine Fitzgerald Padgett as written on page 8 of "The 
Camilla Enterprise" dated 28 Sep 1961.  Camilla, Georgia.   
Mrs. Smith Padgett, age 49, the former Miss Clara Fitzgerald, of Camilla, died 
in St. Petersburg, Fla., Friday evening, September 22nd, after a lengthy 
illness.  Funeral services took place Monday in St. Petersburg with interment 
there also.  Mrs. Padgett was born and reared in Camilla, the daughter of the 
late Meta Sellers Fitzgerald and the late David Warner Fitzgerald.  She has 
resided in St. Petersburg for the past twenty-seven years.  Survivors include 
her husband: two daughters, Mrs. Richard Leonard and Mrs. Charles Hehr, both of 
St. Pertersburg; one son, Wayne Fitzgerald of St. Petersburg; five sisters, 
Mrs. E. R. Wingate of Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. E. H. Carter of Haines City, Fla., 
Mrs. Gordon Collins of Baconton, Ga., Miss Maida Fitzgerald of Baconton, Ga., 
and Mrs. Lester Piland of Pelham, Ga.; three brothers, Wilburn Fitzgerald of 
the U. S. Navy, Imperial Beach, California; stepmother and step-sister, Mrs. D. 
W. Fitzgerald and Mrs. H. C. Smith, Jr., of North Palm Beach, Fla.; four 
grandchildren.
