Camilla, Georgia. Charlie Underwood ("Red") Palmer, who resided on RFD No. 4 in the Greenough community near Camilla, died Saturday, July 2nd, at 10:15 P. M. at Mitchell County Hospital. He was sixty-five years old. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 4th, at three o'clock at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment afterwards in the church cemetery. Rev. Jasper Sadler and Rev. Daniel Mobley officiated. Pallbearers were Howard Beasley, Shelly Jones, Paul Carr, Kay Williams, Brantley Collins and A. T. Rigsby. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham had charge of arrangements. Mr. Palmer was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and he was a farmer in addition to operating a store at Greenough. He was a member of the Mitchell County Fox Hunters Association. He was born in Mitchell County, son of the late W. C. Palmer and Sara Ann Williiams Palmer. He is survived by his wife, Florence Huey Palmer; one son, W. C. Palmer of Smyrna, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. Wood Marshall of Camila; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; mother, Mrs. Sarah Palmer of Pelham; three brothers, Allie Palmer of New Orleans, La.; Bruce and Woodrow Palmer of Pelham; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Hurst of Thomasville, and Mrs. Marcel J.
