Camilla, Georgia. Mrs. W. M. Phelps died at the age of 92 Tuesday morning, July 28th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. I. Eubanks, Jr., RFD Sale City, with whom she had resided for many years. Mrs. Phelps spent her childhood in Lowndes County near Valdosta and moved to Mitchell County in 1900 and resided here ever since. Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Antioch Methodist Church where she was one of its earliest members. The Rev. C. I. Morgan officiated, assisted by Rev. N. H. Williams. Interment followed in Sale City Cemetery and serving as pallbearers were J. I. Eubanks, Jr., W. L. Eubanks, Ralph Eubanks, Clovis Turk, Sonny Branch and Hinton Reeves. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Phelps was the former Miss Mary Adams. Her husband, William Monroe Phelps, died in 1931. One daughter, Mrs. W. W. Branch, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Phelps took an active interest in the church until just a short time ago when ill health and infirmities of age force her to remain at home. Family and friends recalled this week that she had always spent considerable time reading Christian literature and had always had a pleasing personality, a remarkable memory. Mrs. Phelps is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. I. Eubanks, Sr. of Sale City; one brother, Walter Adams of Nashville, Ga.; seven grandchildren including Mrs. Clovis Turk of Sale City, Mrs. C. L. Griner of Camilla; Mrs. Hinton Reeves of Moultrie, J. I. Eubanks Jr. of Camilla, Ralph Eubanks of Sale City, W. L. Eubanks of Tifton, and Mrs. Hoke Wright of Adel. Twenty-three great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
