Camilla, Georgia. Neufville (Shorty) Poore, of Cambridge Avenuce, Decatur, native of Mitchell County and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mart Poore, of Camilla, died around ten o'clock Sunday morning, August 17, at St. Joseph Infirmary in Atlanta. Relatives said he had entered the hospital around five o'clock and was laughing and talking with one of the nurses just seconds before death came. He was 57 years of age. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:00 P. M. at Spring Hill in Atlanta. the Rev. Reuben Allen officiating and burial taking place at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. Going up to Atlanta to be with the family and attend the funeral were the deceased's sister-in-law, Mrs. Ouida Poore, of Camilla, and her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Poore, Mrs. J. L. Gray, of Camilla, a cousin of the deceased, and Mrs. Ila Frazier, of Pelham, an aunt. Mr. Poore was an accountant with the Atlanta office of the American Telegraph and Telephone Corp. for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club. A member of the class of 1925 of Mercer University, Mr. Poore played halfback on the school's football team for four years. He had earlier made a name for himself as a star of the Gordon Military Academy football team. Mr. Poore was born in Sale City and moved to Atlanta about 30 years ago. He was a member of Sigma Nu social fraternity and of the Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Carolyn Hannings of Philadelphia; a son, Wayne M. Poore of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. Jewel Carrera of Mariposa, Calif., and a brother, J. L. Poore of Leesburg, Fla.
