Obituary of Mattie Chandler Palmer Powell as written on page 12 of "The Camilla 
Enterprise" dated 16 Jun 1960.  Camilla, Georgia.   
Mrs. Chan Powell died at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday night, June 14th, at her home in 
Pelham.  Mrs. Powell was the widow of the late Albert Powell who died March 13, 
1931.  She was born and reared in Mitchell County and was a member of the First 
Baptist Church of Pelham.  Funeral services will be this afternoon, Thursday, 
June 16th, at 3:00 P. M. at the First Baptist Church of Pelham.  Interment will 
be in Mizpah Cemetery and the Rev. T. M. Underwood, Jr. will officiate.  
Serving as pallbearers will be A. V. Palmer, Jr., Theodore Palmer, Billy 
Palmer, Milward Eubanks, Ewell Eubanks, Maynard Eubanks.  In charge of funeral 
arrangements is Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham.  Mrs. Powell is survived by 
four daughters, Mrs. Arnold Mickler of Pelham, Mrs. Alma P. Pacetti of 
Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Harry C. Ward, Sr., of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. J. R. 
Hollingsworth of Jacksonville.  Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren and 
a number of great-grandchildren.
