  Mrs. Mattie Davis Radford, 72, wife of H. H. Radford, died at her home in 
Newton late Thursday, February 10.  She suffered a heart attack and died 
unexpectedly.  Funeral services took place Saturday, February 12, at 11:00 A. 
M. at Pleasant Hill Church in Mitchell County.  Rev. Bert Newsome, of Newton, 
and the Rev. George E. Robertson, Jr., of Pleasant Hill officiated.  Interment 
was in the church cemetery and Bramlett Funeral Home was in charge.  Pall 
bearers were nephews and included Hoke S. Davis, J. B. Green, Herman Green, 
Earl Radford, Albert Radford, Roscoe Radford, A. H. Davis and Gene Cowan.  Mrs. 
Radford was the daughter of the late D. B. Davis and Betty Jones Davis of 
Pleasant Hill community where she was born and reared.  She was married 53 
years ago to H. H. Radford, of Newton, who survives her in addition to one 
sister, Mrs. J. H. Green, of Hartsfield.
