Obituary of Rev. James Taylor Rigsby as written on page 1 of "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 8 Jun 1956. Camilla, Georgia. Rev. J. T. Rigsby, widely prominent and beloved retired minister who also held extensive farming interests in the county, died at the age of 83 yesterday (Thursday) morning at 5:00 A.M. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. B. Hatcher, in Doerun. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4:00 P.M. at Pebble City Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. G. T. Hunt of Graceville, Fla., and Rev. M. D. Reed of Camilla assisting. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons serving as pallbearers will be Roy Beasley, Rudolph, Randolph and A. T. Rigsby, Jr., Levon Thomas, Jimmy Thomas. Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla will be in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Rigsby; four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Thomas of Cotton, Mrs. W. B. Beasley of Valdosta, Mrs. J. B. Hatcher of Doerun, Mrs. John Sullivan of Camilla; three sons, A. T. Rigsby, Sr., and Judson Rigsby, Sr., of Sale City, and James A. Rigsby of Albany; five sisters, Mrs. M. C. Cooper of Pelham, Mrs. J. P. Thomas Mrs. J. T. Gay of Hartsfield, Mrs. E. H. Shingler of Cordele, Mrs. J. W. Johnson of Tallahassee; one brother, John Rigsby of Chattahoochee, Fla.
