  Relatives and many friends have learned with sorrow of the death of Mrs. 
Annie Laurie Collins Sawyer, native of Camilla, wife of George P. Sawyer of 
Jacksonville, Fla., and sister of Gordon Collins of this place.  Mrs. Sawyer 
died in a hospital in Jacksonville Sunday, March 14, following a several weeks 
illness.  Funeral services took place in Hardage and Sons Funeral Chapel 
conducted by the Rev. Vance Gordon, pastor of Murray Hill Presbyterian Church, 
Jacksonville, and Rev. Don Davis of Panama City, Fla.  Pallbearers were N. H. 
Sandifer, F. M. Perry, L. B. Harrell, W. H. Howell, B. K. Godwin, J. H. 
Vinyard.  Interment was in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mrs. Sawyer, the 
former Miss Annie Laurie Collins, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis 
Collins and was born December 8, 1896, and reared in Camilla.  Soon after 
graduation from High School here she was married April 22, 1918, to George P. 
Sawyer.  They moved from Camilla to Macon and later to Jacksonville where they 
have lived for 34 years.  She was a member of the Murray Hill Presbyterian 
Church and of order of the Eastern Star.  Surviving in addition to her husband 
are a daughter, Mrs. Jesse C. Gram of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, George P. 
Sawyer, Jr. of Alexandria, Va., and Richard F. Sawyer of Jacksonville and four 
grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Julia Collins of Alexandria, Va.; Mrs. Marie 
Phillips of Jacksonville; and four brothers, Paul H. Collins of Windsor, Ariz; 
James H. Collins and Gordon Collins of Camilla, and Milton P. Collins of 
Alexandria, Va.  Mrs. Lily Sharp of this place, is an aunt of Mrs. Sawyer.
