Brothers and other relatives here in Camilla of Mr. Wyatt Fountain Stoudenmire, of Deland, Fla., are sympathizing with them in Mr. Stoudenmire's death which came about daybreak Friday morning, May 4, at a hospital in Deland where he had been confined for the past ten or twelve weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Deland. Interment followed in Deland. Going from Camilla to attend the final rites were his brothers, Mr. John F. Stoudenmire and Mr. Thad Stoudenmire, and close relatives including Mr. Joe Barber Adams and daughter, Barbara Ann Adams, Mr. James Lee Adams, Mr. Lee Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Collins. The deceased was born on April 5th, seventy-nine years ago, in Russell County, Alabama, the son of the late Charles W. and Mattie Elizabeth White Stoudenmire. Walter Stoudenmire, now residing in Sanford, Fla., was the first of the family to move to Georgia. In 1903 he came to Flint to work as clerk in the Douglas Collins store. John F. Stoudenmire, now of Camilla, went to Flint in 1904 as bookkeeper for G. A. Cochran. In 1905 Mr. Wyatt Stoudenmire, his brother, and other members of the family came from Russell County to Flint with Mr. Wyatt serving also as clerk in the Douglas Collins store. After several years they moved to Camilla with Mr. Wyatt going to work for Union Supply Company, a position he held until he moved to Florida and joined the Piggly Wiggly grocery chain in the Deland store. This he did and after some few years opened his own grocery in Deland. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Emma Lou Adams of Camilla; three sons, Aubrey, Frank, and Truitt of Deland; three brothers, John F. and Thad of Camilla and Walter of Sanford, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Marty Hasty of Macon, and Misses Docie and Josie Stoudenmire of Sanford; a group of grandchildren and a great grandchild also survive.
