Funeral services for Lee Alvin (Buddy) Shiver, 43, of Bainbridge were held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Seminole County. Mr. Shiver died unexpectedly at his residence Wednesday following a heart attack. A native of Mitchell County, he had resided in Bainbridge for the last 10 years and was employed as a contractor and painter. He was a veteran of World War II; a member of American Legion Post 62 and a member of the West Street Baptist Church, Bainbridge. Conducting the services were the Rev. Cecil Brock and the Rev. W. H. Collins. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery with Ivey Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were Randolph A. Jones, Doffice Palmer, Jake Shiver, Thurman Shiver, J. O. Bullard, Woodrow Brooks, Tommy Argo, S. N. Cox, L. E. Lynn, Rastus Bishop, Ralph Ezell, Roy Godwin, Jimmy Segler, Robert Durden, Earl Alday, Jimmy Wells, Richard Boatwright, Norman Sellars and R. C. Connell. Mr. Shiver was born in Mitchell County on November 8, 1902, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shiver. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Braswell Shiver, a daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth Shiver, and a stepdaughter, Jo Ann Carpenter, all of Bainbridge; two brothers, George C. Shiver of Bainbridge and William Henry Shiver of Quitman; and a sister, Mrs. Bill Colvin of Camilla.
