Obituary of William Estus (Jack) Thomas as written on page 10 of "The Camilla 
Enterprise" dated 2 Mar 1961.  Camilla, Georgia.   
Funeral services for William Estus (Jack) Thomas, age 61, of Rt. 3, Pelham, 
were held Monday afternoon, February 27th, at 3:30 P. M. at the First Baptist 
Church of Pelham.  Rev. T. M. Underwood, pastor, officiated, and he was 
assisted by Rev. George Cummings and Rev. Tommy Morgan.  Interment was in 
Pelham Cemetery with Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham in charge.  Active 
pallbearers were J. W. Glenn, S. O. Wilson, J. C. Tumlin, M. A. Kemp, Otis 
Anderson, Hubert Harvey.  Honorary pallbearers wee Johnny Godwin, Henry Eidson, 
H. E. Morrison, Allen Eubanks, Cliff Dekle, I. J. Willis, E. L. Chason, Paul 
Rhoden.  Mr. Thomas was born and reared in Mitchell County, the son of the late 
Rev. Sy Thomas.  He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  He was born 
October 17, 1899.  He was a farmer and was married to the former Miss Bonnie 
Bell Broadaway who survives him along with two sons, John E. Thomas of Decatur, 
Ga., W. E. Thomas Jr. of Cairo; one daughter, Mrs. John Davis of Waycross; 
seven grandchildren and a nephew who lived with them, Russell Hamilton Huey; 
five brothers, John and Clarence Thomas of Atlanta, C. W. Thomas of Quincy, 
Fla., LeRoy Thomas of Albany, and Melvin Thoas of Miami; four sisters, Mrs. 
Charles Mathews of Camilla, Mrs. Morton Burnett of Albany, Mrs. A. T. Taylor of 
Atlanta, and Mrs. J. B. Belin of Houston, Texas.
