Obituary of John Wiley Williams as written on page 3 of "The Camilla 
Enterprise" dated 28 Jul 1960.  Camilla, Georgia.   
Numbers of sorrowing friends throughout the county joined members of the family 
at final rites held for John Wiley Williams, 59 year old resident of Cotton 
community, at the First Baptist Church at Pelham last Thursday morning, July 
21st, at 11: 00 A. M.  Mr. Williams had died late Tuesday at his home in 
Cotton.  The Rev. T. M. Underwood and the Rev. C. I. Morgan officiated.  
Interment followed in the Pelham Cemetery with the Masons in charge of services 
at the graveside.  Braswell Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements.  
Serving as pallbearers were John Collins, John Collins Jr., Frederick Whitston, 
C. A. Raiford, Bill Colvin and Roy Palmer.  Mr. Williams died following a 
lengthy illness.  He was the son of the late John Wiley and Michele Harrell 
Williams.  He had worked for the Chevrolet agency in Pelham for the past thirty-
one years and was service manager.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church 
of Pelham and the Masonic Lodge 312 F&A. M. of Pelham.  He was a Shriner.  
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Griner Williams; two daughters, Mrs. 
Gerald Meade of Chicago, Illinois and Mrs. Jackie Ferrell of Pelham; one 
brother, Jim Williams of Pelham; one sister, Mrs. Lowell Morey of Pelham. Five 
grandchildren also survive.
