Memorial services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 19 at The Camilla United Methodist Church. Private interment will follow in the W. L. Yates Family Lot in Oakview Cemetery. Born December 15, 1926 in Baker County, Mrs. Wingate was the daughter of the late William Lacy Yates and Evelyn Smith Yates Cochran. A graduate of Camilla Consolidated School and Andrew College, Mrs. Wingate was a homemaker, active with her husband in the farming operation, and a member of The Camilla United Methodist Church. She was preceeded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Rosier Kelly (Bo) Wingate, Jr., in March 2009, a sister, Doris Yates Gunn, and an infant brother, William Lacy Yates, Jr. Survivors include a son, R. Kelly Wingate, III and wife, May, of Camilla; two daughters, Anita Wingate of Albany, and Lacy W. Shiver and husband, Lynn, Camilla; three grandchildren, Melissa Taylor Pollock and husband, Josh, Albany; Michael R. Wingate, Tallahassee; and Carly Shiver, Camilla; great- granddaughter, Marlin Pollock, Albany; two brothers, John S. Yates and wife, Betty Lane, Dahlonega; Guy Cochran and wife, Celia, Camilla; sister-in-law, Eleanor W. Simmons, a special niece, Susan D. Luke and husband, Roy, all of Camilla; a special nephew, Charles J. Davis and wife, Debbie, of Cairo. Her family also included Bill and Liz Holton, Staci, Olivia and Liz; Brooks and Brandi Holton, Bay and Bo; Ashley and Gary Nelson, Kayley, Zach, and Krystan; Steve Holton; and a very special friend, Randy Wallace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Avenue, Thomasville, Ga. 31792. The family will receive friends at the Wingate residence, 6402 Pinecliff Road, Camilla, Ga. Parker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
