Also it is written in the Langley Family Biblee he "died on the 9th of May 1851 in the 42nd year of his age" in Houston County Georgia". He said he was born in South Carolina. However proof of the family in South Carolina has not been established. Living in Monroe County, Georgia on May 16, 1833, he married Caroline Callaway, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Spratlin Callaway. According to THE GEORGIA MESSENGER, Macon Georgia: "In Monroe County last Thursday, Rev. Isaiah Langley to Miss Caroline Callaway, daughter of Edward Callaway". They had five children: Thomas Edward born August 16, 1834; Elizabeth Bernetta born July 29, 1838; Adoniram Judson born December 24, 1840; Caroline Octavia born March 26, 1834; and Ryland Holmes born October 15, 1846. At age of fourteen he was baptized upon his profession of faith and before he was of age, he had "begun preaching the Gospel of the grace of God" according to his obituary. "Though uneducated, he loved knowledge and sought it earnestly as opportunity was allowed. He read much and seldom forgot what he read; and few years after his ordination, he had obtained a very respectable reputation as an able minister of the New Testament. Isaiah Jeremiah Langley went to Monroe County, Georgia as a young man by 1823 when he was called as the minister of The Baptist Church of Christ of Forsyth. In May 1838 he became pastor of what was later called the Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church. In April of 1841 the name of the church was changed to Forsyth Baptist Church. In 1838 he became the minister of the Perry Baptist Church moving his family from Forsyth to Perry. The Langley home was on Ft. Valley road west of Perry. Having been afflicted with epilepsy Isaiah Langley died at the early age of forty-two. Caroline at some time moved back to her home in Monroe County. The grave of Isaiah has not been located. It may be on the property of the family home in Houston County on Ft. Valley road as many families at that time had private family cemeteries on their property. Caroline is possibly buried at Greenwood, Florida Baptist Church cemetery where Thomas Edward and Lavinia Anne Langley are buried.
