Susan Jordan to W. R. Jordan

State of Georgia, Monroe County

This indenture made the 13th day of December in the year of Our Lord One 
Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Eight between Mrs. S. B. Jordan of the County 
of Monroe of the one part and Willis R. Jordan of the County of Polk of the 
other part witnesseth that the said Mrs. S. B. Jordan for and in consideration 
of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars in hand paid at and before the sealing and 
delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has 
granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents 
do grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confine unto the said Willis R. 
Jordan his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land in Burton’s 
District, Monroe County Georgia, on which Mrs. S. B. Jordan now resides, 
containing five acres more or less, it being Mrs. S. B. Jordan’s part of the 
Dr. Jordan home place as assigned by appraisers, and bounded North by lands of 
Mrs. Beckham and Jim Harrison, East by public road leading from Bolingbroke to 
Pope’s Ferry, South by lands of the Taylor estate and Mrs. Dean Howard, and 
west by lands of W. R. Jordan and Mrs. Augusta Hill.

To have and to hold the said tract of land with all and singular the rights, 
members and appurtenances thereto appertaining to the only proper use benefit 
and behoof of him, the said Willis R. Jordan, his heirs, executors, 
administrators and assigns, in fee simple, and the said Mrs. S. B. Jordan, the 
said bargained tract of land unto the said Willis R. Jordan, his heirs, 
executors, administrators and assigns, against the said Mrs. S. B. Jordan, her 
heirs, executors, administrators and against all and every other person or 
persons shall and will warrant and hereby defend by virtue of these presents.

In witness whereof the said Mrs. S. B. Jordan has hereunto set his hand, 
affixed his seal and delivered these presents the day and year above written.
