Georgia Monroe County This indenture made and entered into this the sixteenth day of October Eighteen Hundred and Thirty-Nine Edward B. Galloway of the one part and Green English of the other part. Both of the county and state aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said Edward B Galloway for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid at or before the signing, sealing and delivery of these presents the (receipt?) thereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Green English all and singular that tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and two and one-half acres more or less, situate, lying, and being in the third district of Monroe County known by being number one hundred and sixty-five, to have and to hold the said bargained premises to him the said Green English, his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof, to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use, benefit and behoof for ever in fee simple: And said Edward B. Galloway for himself and his heirs and assigns the said bargained premises unto the said Green English, his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the rights and titles therof against the claim of themselves and all other persons whatsoever.
