INDENTURE BETWEEN HENRY McKENZIE - ALEXANDER McCLOUD Sr.

Dated August 21, 1827 in Monroe County, Georgia

Georgia            } 

Monroe County } This indenture made and entered into this
the Twenty first day of August one Thousand Eight hundred
and Twenty Seven Between Henry McKenzie of the State of
Georgia Monroe County of the one part and Alexander
McCloud of the Same State and County afforesaid of the
other part witnesseth that the Said Henry McKenzie for
and in the Consideration of the Sum of Three hundred
dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Alexander McCloud
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by me the said
Henry McKenzie doth bargain and Sell unto the Said
Alexander McCloud all that. Track or parsel of land
dissignated by the plat and --ant by number nine (no 9)
in the fourteenth district of said County, containing one
Hundred and forty two and half acres be it the same more
or less herein such shapes as follows commencing on the
north corner and running west to a stake corner and
thence South till it strikes the main prong of Lick Creek
and thence down the meanders of said creek till it
strikes the East line of said lot thence north to the
place of beginning abounded by lot number eighth on the
North number ten on South east by number twenty Four.
This lot of land was drawn by Houston Hayman ----- which
the Platt will most fully show. Which parsel of land I
the said Henry McKenzie do by these presents do sell and
bargain deed and convey to the said Alexander McCloud the
rights whereof I do forever defend and will forever
defend for myself my heirs and assigns or the claims of
any person or persons whatever unto the Said Alexander
McCloud his heirs and assigns forever in fee Simple
benefit and behoof to the Said Alexander McCloud in
Testimony where of I have set my hand and Seal This the
Same day and date above written 

Sealed Signed and Delivered in the presence of: Witnesses
William King, Albert G. Harvey, Elisha N. Waldrip.
