 INDENTURE BETWEEN ALEXANDER McLEOD Sr.& LEMUEL NEWMAN

Dated 18th February 1833 Monroe Superior Court, Forsyth Georgia

This Indenture made and entered into this eighteenth day of February eighteen hundred and thirty three between Alexander McCloud of the state of Georgia and county of Monroe of the one part and Lemuel Newman of the same state and county of the other part witnesseth that I Alexander McCloud for an in consideration of the sum of two hundred and thirty two dollars to me in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold relinquished and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, relinquish and convey unto Lemuel Newman all that tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the 14th Dist of Monroe county on the waters of Lick Creek containing one hundred and forty two and a half acres more or less it being a part of lot No. 7 in said Dist. having such shape as follows commencing on the north corner and running west to a stake corner, and thence south till it strikes the near sprang of Lick Creek and then down the meanderings of said creek till it strikes the east line of said lot, thence north to the place of beginning, bounded by lot No. 8 on the north, No 10 on the South, east by N. 24 this lot of land was drawn by Houston Hayman Clerk which said lot of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belong I do warrant and will forever defend to the said Lemuel Newman his heirs and assigns to use occupy and enjoy the same as to them or them shall seem meet and proper from me my heirs and assigns and from the right, titles, claim or claims of all and every other person whatsoever in fee simple.
