	This indenture made and entered into this eighth day of September A.D. eighteen
hundred and fifty-two.  Witnesseth that I do give and grant and by these
presents do give, bargain, convey, and confirm unto the Baptist Church (now
contemplated to be very soon made at or near Staford Mirach?? School House) a
certain parcel of land containing one acre lying and being in the northwest
corner of lot of land number seventy-eight (78) in he eighth district of
originally Monroe county now said County of Pike.  Which acre of land shall run
from said original northwest corner on the original line due south (98 _)
ninety-eight and one half yards and from same original corner and east (98 _)
ninety-eight and one half yards and follow by a line from point to point of
these two legs making a right angle.

	To have and to hold the said acre of land and all and everything appertaining
thereto forever in fee simple for the purpose of Baptist Church and school or
academy and for no other purpose and if converted to any other purpose or if
said school be not made, this conveyance is void and the said acre of land
reverts back to me.  And I, James Whatley, would forever defend the right and
title of said acre of land.
