W. Tribble who being duly sworn say that the above and foregoing account is rendered for funeral expense of Mrs. (Susan) T. C. Pippin who died without owning sufficient property to pay this bill. Personally appeared before me Geo. W. Newton Ordinary in and for said county, Mrs. G. W. Herndon, who on oath says that she is the sister of T. C. Pippin deceased, and that she knows from her own personal knowledge that the said T. C. Pippin was at home when the war ended in 1865, with a cripple arm and not able to do any service as a soldier, he came home about Sept 1864 discharged on account of not being able to do any service. HERNDON known to be responsible and truthful persons, residing in said County, who after being duly sworn on oath, say: that of her own knowledge Mrs. T. C. PIPPIN who made the foregoing affidavit, is the lawful widow of T. C. PIPPIN who died in Monroe County in the State of Georgia, on 5th Day of Oct 1916 and that she has not since remarried. That she became the wife of T. C. PIPPIN on the 28th day of December 1868 and that she and he had resided together as man and wife continuously since 1868 when he died.
