Monroe County Negress Cause* Panic Among “Mourners” Forsyth,Ga.—Corming to life in time to attend her own funeral was the interesting, experience of old “Aunt Mary” Callaway, Of Monroe county. Aunt Mary is an interesting figure because she is reputed to be more than a hundred years old and now she is doubly interesting to the negro population of this county by reason of the fact that she came to life just when relatives were ar-riving for her funeral and when the mourners were beginning to foregather. For several days the old negro had been hovering between life and death, and, after a prolonged sinking spell she was adjudged dead and the “bretherin and sistein” were preparing for a real “society burying;” and relatives, notified by tel-egraph of her demise, had begun arriving from Atlanta,,Macon and Griffin, when the supposed corpse, decided she wasn't dead and regained consciousness, to the surprise and bewilderment of the friends who were “sitting up” With the body. Now the funeral is indefinitely postponed.
