J. Thurmond, well-known as an expert dentist, has lately invented a dental instrument which he styles a "mouth rest, tongue depresser and saliva ejecter." The instrument holds the mouth open, depresses the tongue and keeps salivia [sic] from coming in contact with the tooth being operated on. Expert dentists who have seen and examined the instrument are sanguine in praising its merits above all other contrivances for a similar purpose. It is predicted the instrument will be universally adopted by the dental profession. Additional Comments: Dr. W. J. Thurmond practiced dentistry in Monroe and Muscogee Counties, Georgia.
