Smarr and his two sons, Benjamin and Preston, on the other, the fathers being brothers and the sons, own cousins, which ended in the death of Clarence Smarr on Sunday Jan 2. There are many different versions of the sad affair and it will take the courts to find out the facts, but all concur in that Preston, the fifteen year old son of W.J. Smarr, shot Clarence, the married son of James Smarr. Some say that the boy was justifiable and will come clear, but of this no one knows. He was taken back to jail Thursday, after having been previously bonded out on the case. The trouble is deplored on all sides because the Smarrs stand well and were on good terms with each other. The deceased was a clever fellow and had many friend in addition to his immediate family, who are sorely bereaved because of his untimely end. A heart-broken wife survives him.
